What we collect about visitors

Browsing: the site has no accounts, no analytics, no advertising trackers, and sets no cookies. Our hosting provider keeps standard server logs (such as IP address and pages requested) for security and reliability.
Email: if you email us, we receive your address and message and use them only to reply and to act on your request.

We don't sell or rent personal information.
We don't share your contact details with the companies we cover unless you ask us to.

Profiles describe businesses, not private individuals. We build them from public sources, and each fact shows its source and the date we checked it:

Google Maps: business listings, ratings, review counts and dates, and owner replies. We show totals and link to Google; we don't copy review text.
State contractor licensing boards: license number, status, issue date, and disciplinary actions.
City building permit records: roofing permits that name the contractor.
Yelp and the Better Business Bureau: Yelp ratings and review counts as shown in search results, and the rating on a company's own BBB profile, with links to both.
Reddit: links to public threads about the company.
Public domain registries: when a company's website was first registered.
Companies' own websites: claims such as warranties or certifications (labeled as claims), and the company logo.

We don't publish the personal names of license holders or permit qualifiers, home addresses, or the text of reviews.

To access, correct, or delete information you've sent us, email hello@rooferrated.com.
If you believe a profile includes personal information about you, or you want a company logo removed, email us and we'll review and remove it. To correct a business fact, see Corrections.
