Corrections
Last updated October 2026
We only publish facts we can source, and every fact on a profile shows where it came from and when we checked it. If one is wrong, out of date, or matched to the wrong company, tell us and we'll fix it. Accurate information isn't removed because a company dislikes it, and companies can't pay to change their score, ranking, or anything we publish.
How to request a correction
Email hello@rooferrated.com (or use the Request a correction button at the bottom of any profile, which fills in the company for you). Please include:
- The profile link, or the company name and city.
- Which fact is wrong, and what you believe is correct.
- Evidence, ideally a link to the official record (see below).
- If you represent the company, an email address at the company's own website domain helps us confirm that quickly.
Evidence we accept
- License status or discipline: your license number, or a link to your record on the state board's own lookup (for example Florida DBPR, Illinois IDFPR, or the Louisiana LSLBC). The board's record is what we follow; if it has changed since we checked, we update to match.
- A license or permit matched to the wrong company: the license or permit number and the business name it's held under. Records are matched by business name, so a similar name can occasionally be matched in error.
- Permits we missed: permit numbers from the city's records, or the name your permits are filed under. We can only count permits in cities whose records name the contractor.
- BBB, Yelp, or Reddit: a link to the page that is actually yours, or that shows the page we linked belongs to a different business. We report what those sites show; we can't change their ratings or content.
- Website network or parked website notes: show that the website is your own and that requests go to your company (for example, the business that owns the domain, or a fixed listing). If your old website now shows a parked page, update your Google listing and tell us.
- Shared phone number: show which business the number belongs to, or that the other listing has been corrected on Google.
- Google rating, reviews, or business details: these come from your Google Business Profile. Update them there; our next data refresh picks up the change.
- Not a roofing company, or a franchise label: tell us what the business does or which brand it belongs to, with a link to your website.
What happens next
- We reply within 2 business days.
- We check your evidence against the source we used, which we keep on file with the date we retrieved it.
- If the record shows we got it wrong, we fix the profile, usually within 5 business days. If the source still shows the fact, we tell you which record it comes from so you can correct it there first.
- Corrections change only the facts. Scores follow from the published formula on How it works; we never adjust a score by hand.
Logos
We show a company's logo, taken from its own website, only to identify the company. If you'd rather we didn't show yours, or we picked up the wrong image, email hello@rooferrated.com with the profile link and we'll remove it.
Independence
There is no paid placement on RooferRated. Companies can't pay to rank higher, remove an accurate fact, or change a score. See our editorial standards and terms.
