In June 2011 the Texas Attorney General sued Holden Roofing Inc. and its president, alleging it charged homeowners a cancellation penalty if they hired another roofer after a storm inspection and did not properly disclose their three-day right to cancel. According to Insurance Journal, the case was resolved in an agreed judgment in fall 2011: the company agreed to repay homeowners who paid those charges on or after January 1, 2009, and to pay $25,000 in civil penalties and $10,000 in attorneys' fees. No. Holden Roofing runs its own offices rather than selling franchises (source: company website). Local offices may still hold their own state license under a local business name, so check the name on your contract.

How do I check my local Holden Roofing location?

Start with the location's page on this list: it shows the license we matched, permits in city records where available, and its Google review history. Then confirm the legal business name on your contract, and look that name up yourself: Texas doesn't issue a state roofing license, so ask for proof of insurance and the permit number. Ask who pulls the permit and get the permit number.
